About Us

About Us The OvaryIt Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing access to contraception and family planning services while advancing women’s health through research, advocacy, and education. We focus our efforts on those most impacted by systemic barriers—survivors of domestic violence, individuals affected by human trafficking, those re-entering society after incarceration, and anyone lacking access to inclusive sexual health education.

Why We Exist Across the United States, millions of women still face insurmountable barriers to accessing birth control and reproductive care. Whether it's due to lack of transportation, restrictive clinic hours, high costs, limited insurance coverage, or gaps in sexual health education, the consequences are real—and deeply felt. Despite increased awareness of how contraception supports educational attainment, economic opportunity, and family planning, research shows that over 19 million women in the U.S. still need publicly supported contraceptive services. Many can’t afford the medications, let alone the appointments required to access them.

What We Do

We team directly with:

  • Partner pharmacies that are authorized to prescribe and dispense contraception
  • Advocacy clinics and shelters that support survivors and underserved populations
  • Educators and technologists to deliver free, evidence-based sexual health education

Through these partnerships, we expand access to contraception while supporting systemic change through legislative advocacy and healthcare innovation.

Our Long-Term Vision

The OvaryIt Foundation is committed to building a more just and accessible healthcare system. Our goals include:

  • Expanding contraceptive services to reach more communities in need
  • Serving more states through advocacy and pharmacy partnerships
  • Conducting impactful research to shape public policy and improve care delivery
  • Partnering with diverse organizations to amplify education, outreach, and impact

Together, we can make contraception universally accessible—no matter someone’s income, zip code, or circumstance.

How We Deliver Access

Access to financial assistance & care

Proceeds help to pay for contraceptive services and medications rendered by pharmacy partners.

Contraceptive access is declining, so we are helping pharmacists implement services to fill the gaps.

Direct Care

We team with domestic violence shelters to provide feminine hygiene products and emergency contraceptives.

Why do we care?

Healthcare Deserts are Growing

As clinics and access to affordable care options close throughout America, healthcare deserts are growing.

Our Planet is in Trouble

If we were to educate girls/women and provide access to family planning, the total atmospheric CO2 reduction would be greater than that of solar farms, solar rooftop panels, nuclear energy, and geothermal energy… COMBINED

DV and Trafficking are on the Rise

Both domestic violence and human trafficking are on the rise throughout the United States. The UN estimates an increase of 25% worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the OvaryIt Foundation do?

We’re a nonprofit organization committed to improving access to birth control and reproductive healthcare, especially in underserved areas and populations. We partner with pharmacies and healthcare providers to expand pharmacist-prescribed contraception and provide educational resources, technology support, and emergency contraceptives where they’re needed most.

How can I donate birth control?

While you can’t donate medications directly, your financial donation allows us to purchase and distribute emergency contraception and support access to pharmacist-led birth control services across the U.S. Every $30 we receive provides a contraceptive consultation and care.

Where does my donation go?

Your donation helps fund:

  • individuals in need
  • pharmacists answering the call in their communities and discounting their services to help
  • education and patient information

We’re transparent about where your money goes and committed to measurable impact.

Can I sponsor a pharmacy or patient directly?

Yes! Through our “Adopt-a-Pharmacy” model, you can directly support rural and community pharmacies. Since we cannot confirm or deny patient identity, you cannot pay for someone else's appointment or prescription directly at this time. Learn more on our Donations page.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. The OvaryIt Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by U.S. law. After your donation, you’ll receive an email receipt for your records.

Why focus on pharmacists?

Pharmacists are one of the most accessible healthcare providers in America, with 90% of the population living within 5 miles of a pharmacy. Many states now allow pharmacists to prescribe birth control directly. By supporting pharmacy-led care, we’re bringing contraception access to communities without expensive overhead, clinics, or doctors.

What is the ‘Buy One, Give One’ emergency contraception model?

Coming Soon! When you purchase an emergency contraception kit for yourself, we donate one to a patient or community partner in need. We prioritize assistance to domestic violence shelters since those experiencing DV are twice as likely to experience an unplanned pregnancy. It’s an easy way to protect yourself while supporting broader access for others.

Do you serve people in all states?

We’re working toward national reach. Currently, our programs are focused in states that allow pharmacist-prescribed birth control. Your donation helps us expand this model into more states through policy advocacy, pharmacist training, and technology.

Where can I learn more about contraception access and pharmacist prescribing laws?

Visit our Education Hub to learn more about current laws, patient rights, and how our platform supports pharmacists and patients.
